Let us take a moment to remember that there are many legit white people.Small potatoes. John Brown tried to start a war and died trying to free enslaved Black people. Dont get me wrong I like Bernie
Depends on what you mean by "many" and "legit". Obviously not enough to get reparations for the descendents of those same enslaved people Washington and others never paid for their forced labor.Let us take a moment to remember that there are many legit white people.
What a difficult thing to quantify. And expensive I imagine. There'd also be a lot of hate over it.Obviously not enough to get reparations for the descendents of those same enslaved people Washington and others never paid for their forced labor.
Many people have already quantified it and yes it would be expensive. No doubt there would be a lot of hate but that hate is exactly what gives me doubts about there being "many legit" whites. What a difficult thing to quantify. And expensive I imagine. There'd also be a lot of hate over it.
The hate would come from a sense of jealousy, which is actually a normal human emotion. A lot of white people are poor as hell. Many people have already quantified it and yes it would be expensive. Support for a program to pay reparations to descendants of slaves is gaining momentum, but could come with a $12 trillion price tag
This summer's protests following George Floyd's death pushed the topic of racial injustice and a potential reparations program to the forefront of the national debate. A number of politicians, states and towns are grappling with the idea, but a federal compensation plan could cost the U.S...www.cnbc.com

I used to think that too but I think it comes from a deep (possibly genetic) sense of inferiority. When you look at what has occurred even when Blacks created their own prosperous communities you realize that many whites simply can't deal with competition. I taught my kids early to ignore whites claiming superiority. A person that is superior to you wouldnt concentrate so hard on holding you back and fight so hard against leveling the playing field. The hate would come from a sense of jealousy, which is actually a normal human emotion. A lot of white people are poor as hell.
I disagree. I think its a uniquely white issue. I have never heard of any Black person jealous of the Japanese when they got their reparations. And it wouldn't just be white people hating. It would be lots of different kinds of people that weren't included.

Was George Washington good or bad?
He was a slave owner and therefore a hypocrite so I would say bad.
There is no more slavery in majority-white nations.Washington ended the entitlement of the monarchy. He could have chosen to be king of the United States, and chose to forego power for the Constitutional Republic, and free Demacracy you live in now. The fact that he was a slave owner is irrelevant. Slavery was the reality of the times. In Europe, Asia, America, and this might come as a shock to you...Africa. There are far worse examples of American Presidents, than those that were slave owners, and that includes Presidents in the 20th century.
