President-elect Joe Biden is putting scientists in charge and back on the stage to restore trust in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The plans include immediately reviving regular media briefings and giving a central role to long-sidelined career officials including Nancy Messonnier, who as then Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases first warned of the “severe” impact of the Covid-19.
Breitbart had reported her prescient words on February 25:
Trump, a failed casino operator and faded reality-tv performer, has persisted in repeatedly lying about the pandemic, scoffing at sensible prophylactic measures prescribed by medical experts, and pleasuring himself with super-spreader Trump jamborees.
Now, nine months after the conflicting assessments of Covid-19 by Dr. Messonier and Trump, 12,313,710 Americans have been infected and 260,402 have died to date, as the toll continues to soar.
An anguished nation will be relieved to have the top public health experts back in control of confronting the deadly pandemic.
A few will yearn for the previous approach:
“Turn on television, right. Covid, Covid. Covid, Covid, Covid. Covid!
A plane goes down, 500 people dead, they don’t talk about it.
Covid Covid Covid Covid!”
A scourge that is ravaging the populace refuses to just "go away"?
Develop a severe case of ADD, and waddle away for a round of golf!
"SHAZAM!"

“As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder ... It’s not a question of if this will happen but when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illnesses. Disruption to everyday life might be severe.
The data over the last week and spread in other countries has certainly raised our level of concern, and raised our level of expectation that we are going to have community spread here, so that has changed our tone.”
Also, on February 25, Trump had offered his analysis:
”We have very few people with it…
the people are getting better, they're all getting better!”
