An AR projectile (M-193 55 gr) typically travels around 3250 FPS out of a 20 inch barrel and a little over 3000 FPS out of a 16 inch barrel. M-855 62 gr will generally be about 150-200 feet per second less.

Most heavier caliber rifles have projectile velocities in the mid 2000 FPS but since the bullet is bigger there is more force. My M-1A shooting 150 gr .308 gets about 2800 FPS.

The key problem surrounding Biden's firearm ignorance is people will buy whatever words he's selling, no matter how outlandish. Most modern folks get the sum of their firearm knowledge from watching movies and TV shows and playing video games.
