Those kids were not genuinely looking for answers or asking legitimate question, they were trying to force Candice to agree with them and not challenge them. They wanted validation from a stranger and when they didn’t get it they got upset.

If I tell you I identify as someone who is correct on this issue, will you admit you are wrong and change your point of view so I don’t feel victimized or assaulted in this and future conversations?
