Are you asking if I am going to give credit to Trump for spiking oil due to this unnecessary war and then eventually in months/years when it ends and the supply chain is fixed will I cheer Trump? Just to be clear. That is your question?
We liberated a country and gas spiked a little. Biden threatened to put oil companies out of business and the price went through the roof. Then Trump was elected and the price plummeted. Gas will be coming down soon, Iran doesn't have the resources to block the straight much longer. So take your fake outrage and stick it up your ass.

They don’t go up $1 a gallon in less than a month
And yes, TRUMP gas will go up more by Memorial Day
/----/ Half of that $1 rise is due to the war in Iran. The rest is seasonal.

Breakdown of the Cost Increase

While "normal" seasonal factors are at play, this year's massive spike is being driven by a combination of standard transitions and unique geopolitical crises:
  • Summer-Blend Transition (~15 cents): The move to more complex, environmentally friendly summer fuel typically adds about 10 to 15 cents to the production cost per gallon.
  • Maintenance & Demand (~35 cents): Refinery "turnarounds" and the start of Spring Break travel usually account for the remainder of the traditional 50-cent climb.
  • Geopolitical Conflict ($0.50+ this year): The current conflict involving Iran and the disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has spiked crude oil prices to over $100 a barrel. This has doubled the typical spring increase we see at the pump.

In June 2022 the average price was five dollars a gallon. Where was your outrage.
You think you’re slick. You didn’t mention the year 2022 in your post. You were pretending that was the average throughout this whole term. Now you are forced to admit you were cherrypicking, because you got busted and fact-checked.
Liar.

The price of gas averaged five dollars a gallon. I didn't lie, just showed how much of a hypocrite you loons are. Now move along, until gas his an average of five dollars a gallon. Also it was that high when Biden was draining our strategic oil supply.

Now you deleted 2022 again because you realized you don’t really like it that narrow. Ha ha.

Too early
I usually see a seasonal spike around Memorial Day. We are mid March with the worst yet to come.

Trumps war of choice has created global instability and the market responds accordingly. The Strait is still closed, oil processing and transport facilities are being hit daily.
Recovery will not come quickly

/----/ We don't get our oil from the Strait. We produce our oil and gas.

We do?

And do we own that oil or do the oil companies?
Oil is an international commodity and the world market sets the price.
Oil companies sell to the highest bidder

True, It was trumps OPEC+ deal.
You know, the 2 year deal that effected gas for months after trump left office.
FACT ^^^^^^^

Putting it all together

By June 2022, all of these overlapped:

  • Global oil shock (Ukraine war)
  • Tight supply (low inventories + refinery limits)
  • High demand (summer travel rebound)
👉 That combination pushed the national average to about $5.01/gallon—the highest ever recorded by AAA.

Big picture impact on U.S. gas prices

✅ What OPEC+ DID

  • Prevented oil from staying cheap after 2020
  • Contributed to 2021–2022 price surge
  • Supported higher price floor in 2023

❗ What OPEC+ DID NOT control alone

U.S. gas prices also depend on:

  • Domestic refining capacity
  • Seasonal demand (summer spikes)
  • U.S. shale production
  • Geopolitics (like Ukraine war)

It’s not fake outrage. His actions are outrageous. Take Trump’s dick out of your mouth and stick it up your ass.

Gas was $3.10 when Trump took office. It was $3.05 when he attacked Iran. Your plummeting claim is bullshit. The cause of price increases under Biden was all related to Trump’s OPEC deal that cut oil by 9M barrels a day. Even though we increased ours under Biden that was the killer.

/----/ Complain to your North Carolina politicians about the high price of gas.
The current gas tax rate in North Carolina is 40.4 cents per gallon, which will decrease to 40.3 cents per gallon starting January 1, 2025. Additionally, there is a 0.0025 cents per gallon inspection tax that remains unchanged.
