That's the absolute truth.$30K for 30Kw backup , and that's only around 125 amps in a 300 amp residence TODAY

Yes, it gets you one extra trip around the block. From what I hear, EV's can turn the energy it takes to slow a car down into electricity. With such a system there would be less wear on any break pads.
I went to the dealer before a long trip to replace the brake pads on a hybrid Sierrra at 35,000 miles. They inspected it and told me they'd last at least till 80,000. He said they were finding that was the case on all the Toyota hybrids due to regenerative braking.Yes, it gets you one extra trip around the block.
I find that case too because I'm old school, I use the gearbox to slow my car and van. Plus when needed, I just do the pads myself when I service them.I went to the dealer before a long trip to replace the brake pads on a hybrid Sierrra at 35,000 miles. Then I guess you're not getting free service from your dealer.I find that case too because I'm old school, I use the gearbox to slow my car and van. Plus when needed, I just do the pads myself when I service them.
