President Trump has paid a $2 million fine for misusing funds from his charity, the Donald J. Trump Foundation.


A New York state judge ordered Trump last month to pay the damages after the president was found to have used tax-exempt foundation money to buy portraits of himself and meet some of his businesses' legal obligations. Trump also funneled some charity money toward his 2016 campaign.

The $2 million fine has been split between eight charities: the Army Emergency Relief, the Children's Aid Society, Citymeals-on-Wheels, Give an Hour, Martha’s Table, the United Negro College Fund, the United Way of National Capital Area, and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
