House Passes Resolution Denouncing ‘Horrors of Socialism’ Security,

Today's resolution condemning "socialism" should have prompted one of our Leftist legislators (legislatrixes?) to say a few words in favor of legislation and programs that beneficially incorporate principles of socialism in our society. Because the fact is that Capitalism, successful as it is in general, produces not only fabulous wealth but also abject poverty, and if it were not for some of these "socialist" programs our overall society would be far worse for it. Indeed, it is likely that we would have had some sort of armed insurrection or civil war to fight the excesses of Capitalism.

I'm thinking of,
  • Social Security,
  • Medicare,
  • Collective bargaining (facilitated by the National Labor Relations Act),
  • Welfare,
  • SNAP,
  • Section 8 housing,
  • Unemployment compensation,
  • ACA.
To pretend that we, as a society, utterly reject socialism is just ignorant. Further, there is nothing preventing States and local government from creating programs that incorporate principles of socialism, such as a couple States have done with healthcare.

True Socialism, of course, dictates that the Sovereign must own all property and the means of production, and "we" are got going there in any living person's lifetime, but socializing the correction of some of society's problems can be a good idea.

Any Idea when MAGA Mikey is gonna schedule a vote condemning fascism? I can't seem to find it on the congressional calendar.

There's a difference between a system of socialism and having policies that we pay into to help people.

American Capitalism is ripe with good will, good faith, and those who want to help others, despite what communists and socialists attempt to portray.

But an analogy for what you're saying is "we use heat, so we should also have our planet be 9000 degrees". We've seen socialist-based countries do nothing but fail. Why would you want to be the next in line?

Stats I've seen show the United States is consistently one of the most philanthropic countries annually. They are often first or in the top five.

This source shows charitable giving by individuals as a % of GDP. U.S. is 1.44%. New Zealand is second at .79%.

Yes stats tell a very different story than what leftists, communists, socialists etc. portray. They sell that America is filled with nothing but greedy, ungiving selfish pricks.. I've always viewed it as nothing but projection of what they themselves would do.

You’re right… we don’t reject socialism enough. None of those programs you listed are legitimate under a strict reasong of the US Constitution. None of them should exist.

If the Rich get richer and the appt get poorer, that’s just the unfortunate reality of life. Those of us who truly despise Socialism will refuse to take Government Charity.

America was socialism, or more exactly democratic socialism during the Obama age.

America is terrible as a socialist state.

It were Obama's black view of America's state, despite America is normally a democracy than close to the communist type, socialist association.

Socialism is rarely true.

Capitalism does not produce poverty. Not even a little bit.
Capitalism is me doing what I want with my labor, capitalism is nothing more than freedom.
I can see how you would think this, you are very ignorant. You need an education that you can achieve through your google searches.
I have seen abject poverty as I have traveled across the world. Where there is no capitalism, freedom, there is poverty.

This comment highlights your abject ignorance. You have no idea what socialism is and the destruction it causes. There is a vast difference, night and day, between Socialism and a program funded by the charity of free people (capitalists.}

Socialism is ignorant in Europe.

That's because the tithes the churches extract for services are counted as 'charity' in the US.

Its real regard for its people can be seen in its legislation.

Let's say that socialism is where the means of production, distribution and exchange are held in common cause, usually through the agency of the state.

The OP misses completely the socialistic production of goods and services in the US, otherwise all your institutions would be in private hands. The offence forces first off.
