Post Your Mood Today With Pics!

Feeling victorious that I "persuaded" the floor company that installed my $15,000 floor to come back and remove the floor they laid and put down a new one. After months of inspections, investigations and a rendering by the manufacturer and hammering the intermediary I got my $70 tip I gave to the original installer returned and the are reimbursing me for my time I spent negotiating and dealing with this situation.

I came from nothing and always appreciate someone who busts their ass and am not cheap (I tip very well) but drunks, morons and half assed jobs I will never tolerate.
What kind of flooring did you get?
Wood
More info. I love wood flooring right now, wide plank, knotty pine but that doesn't go with the place I'm in.

They came over and tried to fill there screw up with putty. Simply unacceptable for a brand new floor. My position from day one was " you folks want 100% of the price, I want 100% of the product and services" $15,000 is a premium price I want premium service. Mistakes I can understand, but when they said this was the best they would do I found that unacceptable.

This is just one out of many I defects in workman ship or materials I found.

mdk you need to hire a maid! you should not be working like that.

if I could find a pic of a woman in a robe, feet propped on an ottoman, sitting on the couch with a keyboard in my lap, that would do it.... maybe later like mdk.....

My husband has suggested on numerous occasions that we should hire maid. Growing up a poor kid, I find the whole idea to be frivolous. What I am doing is nothing to what my mother and grandmother had to endure. I am only rushing around b/c I wish to finish all these chores before we attend a lawn game party at best friend's house.

lawn games! love them! (well all but volleyball... yuck)

I like those wide boards. Ours are not as wide, we had ours done about 6 or 7 years ago, they still look great! Never had to deal with anything like that. Forget what we paid....

This is the "showcase" room when I sell the place this room is what wows people when they come over. Can't have this sort of poor workmanship or faulty products detracting from its beauty.

Don't look now, but he's already hired somebody.

Corn-Hole, Bocce, Kubb, and, then the Pens games in the evening. Woot!

That doesn't look good.
LOL no it did not. They sent some goon over a couple of days ago and he tried to tell me I was imagining this. So I showed him some more that I found and he wanted to cut out portions and do some "patchwork". That did not happen.

We are pretty happy with ours - is it 100% perfect, no - I prefer carpeting (warmer) but this is IS much easier to keep up.

That is nice. Perfection is not the expectation, requiring a product that is fit for the purpose for which it is intended and installed in a workman like manner is within the realm of reasonability.

Once I told the owner that I gave the primary installer a $50 tip and his apprentice a $20 tip he seemed to be shocked and developed different tone and a more open mind as to who I was and what I wanted.

It is a Swedish lawn game. It is also known as Viking Chess and it is an enormous amount of fun. Also, very easy to play and learn.

No, almost everyone in both of our families are Catholic. We have a few Jewish family members as well, but their numbers dwindled significantly as a result of WWII.

I'm thinking of hiring someone to wash windows and clean like once a month thoroughly and then we just maintain. He never has time to do those windows and I just don't want to,

I know the feeling that hiring someone gives you when you come from a family with a real work ethic. My family is old Irish stock and we're used to doing everything ourselves but if you have the extra cash, why not take some more time for yourself?

To be honest, I find these chores to be almost therapeutic. I am an 'idle hands are the devil's playthings' sort of guy. lol
