What we really need is to focus on prevention.

All criminal illness, and murderous anger/ill will, could be better prevented from
becoming deadly and dangerous by mental health screening and counseling.

It's just that this process requires INDIVIDUAL free choice.
The govt can only intervene when it becomes an issue of crime, legal rights
and protections, and public health and safety.

So people end up publicizing cases "after crimes have occurred"
instead of focusing on prevention, since that is up to individuals to do more.

Then, when you leave it up to publicity, anything goes!

It's certainly not the military's either. So your idea of bringing troops home from Europe and putting them on our border is not legal. Trump is using the National Guard as did Obama and Bush before him. It didn't solve this problem.

So what is needed now is the removal of any illegal in this country. While a lengthy process, steps (as I listed previously) can be taken to come closer to that goal. Removing state funding for those states that provide drivers licenses to illegals. Same with Sanctuary Cities. Tightening down on children of illegals attending our schools.

In other words, make any life of an illegal hell to be here in this country. Make them uncomfortable, scared, hungry, and then we are on our way to prevent more tragedies like this one.
