What Jasmine Richards's "lynching" conviction means for the Black Lives Matter movement

So an activist attempted to prevent the cops from arresting a criminal and this story totally glosses over that because of a word used in the legal definition of the crime. And then attempts to paint it as racist and wrong to actually enforce the law.

What next? A gang kills cops to prevent a cop killer from being captured and we will be told it was just a protest for rights?

It doesn't mean jack. She committed a crime. It's a useless little movement.

She has to be convicted first to get anywhere but the longer this story is out the less likely she is to become a fictitious martyr.

Did you read the story? She was convicted now awaiting sentencing. The story claims it is a big conspiracy by the Jury the Judge and the prosecutor to muzzle protests.

You're right. I should have said let's see what the sentence is.

Could it be that she was a woman who doesn't draw as much sympathy
as Sandra Bland or Michael Brown.

The more controversial the character is, they draw hype in the media and get used as bait.

Maybe she's just not juicy enough bait.

There are a lot of interesting characters we never hear about:
Saddam Hussein had a Christian General whom he respected highly among his advisors.
Victoria Woodhull was the first woman to run for President, but we never hear about her
because she was so far left the media can't even represent what this woman was about. Doesn't fit the stereotypes.

Not sure about this one, but you're right that if this can't be explained easily,
many sources just won't bother trying to cover it.

I had a reporter drop a story because she couldn't figure out how to explain
a prochoice and prolife activist working together when we didn't agree on a lot of things.
