I think that Trump has already hit his iceberg. That comparison of 'sacrifices' of building buildings and losing a son in the service is not setting well with a lot of people. With that kind of logic, Trump will be lucky to do as well as Goldwater.

They are polls of registered voters, but the LA Times poll of likely voters 7/25 to 7/31 shows Trump still up by four points. It has long been clear that Trump supporters are more likely to go to the polls than Clinton supporters. This is why Clinton is running a wholly negative campaign, because nearly everyone who supports her does only because they are angry at Trump. Most of these will stay home rather than work for her election or even go to the polls on election day.

He has hit a little rough water but hardly an iceberg. Clinton has successfully exploited the family of this dead Muslim soldier to attack Trump, but once the smoke has cleared, thoughtful people will realize that the fact this Muslim served the country has no relevance to the Muslims who want to come here, and who Clinton wants to bring here from countries that are filled with terrorists. Clinton has no answer to Islamic terrorism so she drags the body of this dead soldiers before the cameras to deflect from the issue.
Polls are usually off by around 2 points so it's probably hillary 54 trump 42

Among the many, many problems that Trump has, one would note his extremely THIN SKIN.....He simply cannot accept criticism. ...his fragile ego cannot bear the thought that someone.....anyone.....would not fall to one's knees in awe of his financial "success".....his trophy wives.......and probably would expect that the Vatican should have a big "T" in front of St. Peter's....

If he does, the GOP party leaders get together and choose a new candidate. It doesn't have to be Pence. And they'd still be on the ballot everywhere. That is, they don't have to redo getting ballot access in each state.
