considering it was the mid 1800's and it took days or weeks for info to go just a 100 miles its unlikely he knew what was happening minute by minute,,

Not into circular arguments, however I find it difficult to believe a Commander in Chief doesn’t know what his army is doing. Prove me wrong.

in the current age you could be right but we are talking about the mid 1800's,,,

so unless you have some emails or phone records he knew your failure is obvious,,
