However if that's not the policy of the business, then it's certainly their right to fire an employee that violates their policy.

In this case, I'm glad it's not the policy of the company, and I'm glad they canned this employee.
Now if the company wanted to refuse to serve cops, I would say they are disgusting pieces of shit and I would personally boycott them, but I wouldn't be in favor of laws that force them to serve cops.
