Police in California Fatally Shoot 15-Year-Old Black Teenager with Autism

In California, a 15-year-old Black teenager with autism was shot dead Saturday at his home by a sheriff’s deputy. The teenager, Ryan Gainer, was reportedly holding a gardening tool when he was fatally shot by a deputy from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Officers had come to his home after receiving reports of a domestic incident. Attorney DeWitt Lacy said, “There are great questions as to whether it was appropriate to use deadly force against a 15-year-old autistic kid who was having an episode. We need to see the video and the moment of the shooting … but it doesn’t seem like anyone was in imminent danger of death or great bodily injury.”

yeah right no one was danger but this crazy kid was having an episode with tool in his hand .come on now.
this whole thing rides on the parents. cops had to do what they had to do;. they do not know he is autistic. they just know some crazy person is going at them with tool that is also a weapon to them. his parents failed him not the cops.

They should have asked him before shooting him, do you have autism? And don't the majority of blacks have some autism anyway?

Gardening tool?

The kid had a fucking axe and he was holding it like he was going to swing and he ran out of his house charging directly at a police officer.

Trigger happy cops strike again

You should know what you're talking about before you form an opinion.

As shown in the video I linked above a kid was charging the office with an axe. The cop even backed up some first.

You're the reason why people have such a bad perception of police because you spread lies and misinformation on things you don't know what youre speaking about.

exactly if anyone is at fault. itd the family for not getting him some help with his conditon.

How does Autism enter the picture? It takes psychologists years to diagnose the condition. Are Cops supposed to recognize it when they are faced with a nut case with a machettti?
