At least one instrument reading put it at 200 feet, where it was supposed to be. Another had it at 300 feet.

There are conflicting reports due to not sticking to one source. Such as readings by the Controller or readings from the helicopter black box. And the onboard blackbox proves the helicopter violated rules we all have followed at major airports. The helicopter gets maintained as soon as it lands. I worked around them when I was in the Army. Trust me. The ATC follows using radar.

I of course have nothing here from the investigation but as I am a pilot, i know the laws covering this and also saw the video of the helicopter moving fast at the passenger jet. The Pilot did not know that. All he knew was he was told to land on Runway 33. But he was at his assigned altitude doing precisely what he was supposed to do.

The Helicopter was not on his path. And he was way too high and it seems watching the video he aimed at the passenger jet. More than likely the pilot had some other problem.

What non pilots do not understand is the intensive training we pilots endure. We are put through all possible cases. The time the FAA inspector pilot handed me my license, his opening statement was that if he trusted me to fly his own immediate family to carry them with me, he would pass me and give me my license. He did hand it to me about 1.5 hours of flying with me. He put me through all the paces one can have. So when I tell you about crashes, it is with vast experience. I did not get an instrument rating but I did accumulate around 4 hours of instrument training with the other training. I even had mountain flying training at my own request since that was not a requirement. I have trained with 4 various FAA inspectors in the plane at different times.

As to the change of Runways. I have been a passenger at that airport where the Crash happened. A passenger plane. All it means to change runways is the pilot simply moves his heading a small amount. It is no big deal.
