About damn time, they've been talking about ending this rampant abuse of the public pension system for years.

Phoenix ends pension spiking for police officers, firefighters
Phoenix's new contracts with its employee unions will end the controversial practice of pension spiking for police officers and firefighters and cap it for other city workers, saving taxpayers an estimated $233 million over 25 years, according to a city report.

Pension spiking is generally seen as the artificial inflation of a city employee's income toward the end of a career to boost retirement benefits.

And of course you've now got the cop union threatening to sue the city, they were quoted as saying many cops rarely took sick and vacation time for decades with the expectation it would be turned in during their final year to calculate pension amount.

This makes no sense to me, sick days are for when you are sick right? If you aren't using them then you are fortunate you didn't need them, they shouldn't accumulate to be turned in to game the pension system.
