This is just another day in the Hood ! I've been there more than once...it was a dividing line between blacks and poor white who couldn't afford to leave. At 30th and Tasker there is a playground (8 ft fences) the size of a city block and that was the hot spot. There is a project there. I was down there working on a roof and I counted 100 cops at shift change. They had a coffee machine set up. Back than 50 years ago this was a fairly safe Hood because of the police presence.

This is the neighborhood where my grandmother grew up in...when it was safe to walk down the street in the middle of the night. There is a small section right on the river arround 34th ST that is called The Devils Pocket.

CBS News reported the three deceased individuals were all males, aged 19, 23, and 24. A 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys were among those who were injured by gunfire.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said, “You know, this is coward stuff. This is, you know, you see the size of this block. I mean, just individuals just shooting randomly into houses, into cars, children out here. I mean, this is coward, wanna-be thug stuff.”
