trumps' actions have impacted the independence and reliability of the federal agencies responsible for tracking and publishing economic data. He disbanded the Advisory Commitee ( FRSAC ) , reduction of personnel and not filling vacancies doesn't help either ,plus his lackey Howard Lutnick wants changes to calculating the GDP would alter it and " gaslight " the American public. All while our Fed has to implement inflationary monetary policy, due to Trump's staggering job losses (one hidden cost of his tariffs, which aided the job loss).
