Wonderful, but it doesn't change what a gun is for nor the fact that almost no one has need of such a thing eh?

You are finally right....it doesn't change the fact that guns are for keeping the user alive. And 1.5 million Americans use guns to stop violent criminal attack each year in the United States according to bill clinton.....

gun murders in 2014.....8,124

guns in private hands....320 million

guns not used to commit murder....319,991,876

We don't have a gun problem....control the criminals and our gun murder rate goes down even more....

Boys, your deadly toys are safe for now but now isn't ever. If you think we will give up before we've dumped them all in a hole, you're mistaken. Eventually we'll get our way, one way or another.

You'll be long gone before that happens

Oh yeah, many decades probably, but 100 years from now that debate will be long over.

Wake me up and let me know how it comes out.

PaintMyHouse, thinking you will get the firearms out of our hands over time is a bit naïve.
Private gun owners represent over 70 million citizens and most of the gun owners I've talked to insist they aren't giving them up for any reason. So, if you think the situation in Afghanistan has been bloody with just thousands armed with only some AK-47's, RPG's and IED's, think "millions" here armed to the teeth and willing to fight to the death to retain their right to bear arms. This nation would run red with blood and with the armed forces of the United States never succeeding in Afghanistan and the Afghani government having to make peace talks with the Taliban as the U.S. withdraws, to think your side would win is mistaken.

Nope...wrong again....guns are for keeping the owner alive.....and whoever the owner is protecting as well.....and most of the time the gun never needs to even be fired to do this...most cops never fire their gun....yet the gun on their hip secures the peace. Most soldiers never fire their guns, yet the guns they carry keep enemies away often without firing a shot.

You are just wrong..even on the civilian level....most self defense encounters with an armed victim end without a shot being fired.....so no, they are not just for killing things.

And people like you...history shows us once you have dumped the guns of normal, law abiding people in a hole you eventually end up putting men, women and children into similar holes...since they can no longer defend themselves from you and your vile friends....

Nope. That's not at all what history shows. Think Japan, not Germany, that's the plan.

The only reason for a gun to exist is to kill something, period. Whether you do or not matters not a damn. Hammers are for pounding things. If you never do that doesn't change what it is for.

The function of the police, who pmh doesn't think too highly of, is to solve crimes, not prevent them. I carry a firearm to prevent harm to my family since there is no one else who will. Perhaps pmh doesn't think enough of his family to want to prevent harm to them and to cover up his timidity wants to prevent all others from having the ability to do so too. Maybe with some serious treatment he could cure his hoplophobia.

I have guns, I use them for what they are meant for, killing things. Clear now?

How do you pull the trigger when you aren't carrying? You're starting to sound more and more foolish. Perhaps it's from carrying around all those barred windows.
