But with gay people, the DNC has a problem. Most of these people don't have a family to support and, therefore, tend to be career oriented, and therefore, tend to be wealthier. They then tend to want to keep the money they earned, as much as they can like everyone else.

IMHO You're a parent if you're actively engaged in all the responsibilities of raising a child, regardless of whether you've given birth to that child(ren) or not and yeah that includes adoptive parents.

I used to hold this point of view, until two friends of mine entered into a same sex marriage. Those kids they are raising are loved and have a great life. The alternative for the kids was some sort of group home or a father who didn’t care.
