Staged? Maybe. But certainly not in the way you think, and certainly not by the Trump campaign.
There are things that are simply not explained or explainable.
The shot was taken from about a 130 meters. Shooter knew the layout and distances to be involved, yet, weapon and optic of choice, was an off the rack cheap AR-15 with a cheap, 1 power (no magnification) red dot optic? Hmmm. Not exactly a first choice for a critical shot, by anybody's accounting. Lying on an exposed rooftop, visible to the crowd if anybody looked that direction? Not a shooting position of first choice, by any logical planning scenario, I can imagine. OK. Took shot or shots. Was he the dude, or the patsy? The only shooter or were there more? All shots fired, fired from that position? Some are not so sure.

No, he wasn't. Local law enforcement fucked up. They were assigned. Secret Service handles close-up and far away, with their snipers. At every one of Trump's rallies the local cops handle crowd control and any nearby buildings.

But cops are incompetent and that policy should change. Maybe assign SS agents to babysit them and give them direction. Like "Hey dipshit - see that building over there? Go secure it, and I'm sending an agent with you to make sure it's done".

THAT should be new policy. And then the local cops can scratch their balls and brag about how they protected the ex-president, and everyone is happy.
