Penn St 100, Notre Dame 6

notre dame has a pretty good defense. Penn St. didn't destroy BSU enough to get my vote

The Irish just took a shot of whisky (or three) and went out and whipped Penn State.

Meh, if Notre Dame was not in it I'd not even pay any attention to the college football championship.....And that is mainly due to the tradition involved.

They don't make timeless movies about any other school except maybe Army or Navy

Tradition like having their own TV contract with a network (NBC).

Sour grapes much?
I don’t really care much at all. Just watching and reporting. In fact, I was leaning toward Notre Dame last night.
Did you notice how ND eventually took Paul Hornung’s advice and lowered their standards in order to attract better football talent? Hornung was hung out to dry for that suggestion.

The Penn State coach may be on the hot seat.

1-15 record against top 5 teams.

Lost the past 11 games they were the underdog

Theyre always on the doorstep, but can’t win big games
They needed considerable success to be in position to play some of those top 5 teams.
Also consider the circumstance that Sandusky, et al, created that had to be overcome.

Yeah but there comes a point where you need a coach who can lead a team beyond

It’s Marvin Lewis Syndrome (bengals)

I guess this means that Wilt Chamberlain and Guy Lewis and Marv Levy and Jim Kelly, etc., were failures.
Ralph Friedgen was grooming this guy to become Maryland’s head coach before they undermined him and blew their chance. If Penn St doesn’t want Franklin then maybe he could end up here at Maryland after all.

No need to go to black and white land. Hyperbolic much?

People can be very very good, but not great. As it stands, Franklin is not a great coach based on his inability to win so many big games over such a long time.

I just cited multiple examples. How are they different from this one?
