MTG's tweet was almost two years ago and in protest of the Mar-a-lago raid.

I do not think politics should enter into recognition of Memorial day and acknowledgement of all who have risked or given everything in service to their country.

But the individual soldier does not start wars defending corporate interests and foreign nations. They simply volunteer to serve. Their deaths should be remembered and honored.

Many were forced to serve (i.e. drafted). All were lied to and manipulated. Honoring them without explicitly talking about the lies and manipulation which lead to their unnecessary deaths just enables future manipulation and unnecessary deaths.
