It means you expose yourself far more to the party propaganda than to anything else. It means you have to expose yourself to distortions of what the other party actually thinks. It means you're willing to go through life intellectually myopic, intellectually lazy, and worst of all, incurious.

I don't get the appeal. It doesn't seem like an honest way to go through life.

I go along with the Democrats because they will accomplish some things I like. Other things I don't care about, but watching the Christian right squirm over them is fun. A few things they support I think are stupid, but have no effect on my life.
