Whatever benefits the companies are required to pay you (like weeks vacation), has to come out of your income. So all those additional benefits, and all those additional social programs, that the companies pay for, results in you earning less money.

So in France, people earn jack squat, compared to Americans.

This is why they are protesting. They want socialism.... but they don't want to pay for it. They their free education, but they don't want lower wages. They want their free Health Care, but they don't want higher fuel taxes, or any taxes.

This is why they are going crazy.
