parade killed gets 117 charges

Too bad it isn't a Federal death penalty case.
21 first-degree murder counts, 48 counts of attempted murder and 48 counts of aggravated battery

Curious, I wonder: do prosecutors get paid by the charge? Seems to me even ONE 1st° murder charge ought to be enough to put away someone for life if not the electric chair.

Nope, but by making separate X-class offenses, family of the dead and injured are assured the guilty will be punished for the injury or death of their loved one.
