Sarah Palin, Fox: looks like a winner

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Already entrenched as No. 1 in the cable-television news wars, Fox News Channel on Monday hired Sarah Palin as a contributor and strengthened itself further.

The arrangement, reported in the New York Times, has the potential of playing out as a big win for both parties.

For Fox, the addition gives its conservative political base one more reason to tune in, as Palin is the darling of many sectors of the Republican Party. Fox has surged far ahead of rivals CNN and MSNBC (GE), so it isn't necessarily fretting about losing its sizable advantage in the ratings. But it's always good business to give the people what they want, and they can't get enough of Palin.

Just as I predicted before she even lost the election.

I called it after she quit.

I said she quit to make money, keep her name out there and eventually work for fox.

Easy call really. She is the perfect fit for Fox.

Yepper the dirty old men will drool over her. Might draw from BillO's crowd though.

I just love it. I'll get to see my sweetie more often! Another reason why you just gotta love Fox. They have their finger on the pulse of the "real" America.

Easy liberals - she is just signed on as a part-time commentator guest. At present, no indication she would have her own show.

What is certain is that the Fox domination will bump up by a bit more now - and Palin remains in the spotlight where her views now have a direct forum of millions of viewers each time she is on.

Overall, a very good move for both Fox and Palin...

FOX domination?

This is a just plain bad idea for both Fox and Palin. If you want to win the war of ideas and proclaim to be fair and balanced you actually might want to try and be fair and balanced. You don't have to keep goING farther right to show liberals are morons.

Doesn't help Palin either. Kiss any twinkling of a notion of running for Pres or getting on a ticket goodbye.

Righties just love to be dominated I guess?
esp by palin.

She's already able to throw Obama on his heels with a single Facebook posting, looks like Obama's going to have to go nuclear in his war on FoxNews.

She'll have more viewers than Olbermann, Matthews and Maddow combined

Just one MORE reason not to expect anythign NEWSworthy from Faux News. Why don't they just cahnge their name to the Tea Party Channel and be done with it?

Its already the Republican Channel, where all the rejects from the Republican political arena are welcome to spew their hate and bile.
