Fights Break Out Between Pro-Palestine and Pro-Israel Protesters in NYC

RE: Palestine: the things you don’t hear about
SUBTOPIC: Continuous Conflict
et al,
I'm not sure I understand what the involvement of Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS2) (NYC) and the Muslim Community Network (MCN) are doing to quell the fighting in New York City (NYC). What is the objective in reporting such news as to foster more hatred between the two communities? I am wondering if their purpose is to increase the level of violence or to reduce the violence.

Fights Break Out Between Pro-Palestine and Pro-Israel Protesters in NYC

(COMMENT)

Are the confrontations between Pro-Palestinians and Pro-Israelis improving the situation? If so, in what way does the improvement reveal progress?

I'm not sure that the Pro-Palestinian and Anti-Israeli Movements (making up ≈ 3% of the population in any one particular State) actually know what the confrontation themes mean and what the various mantras imply. The theme is most commonly about "Rights and Justice." The most-heard mantra is "from the river to the sea." In recent times the most often-heard demand is for America to "cut military assistance" and aid to Israel. These three observations are seldom discussed or otherwise offset by any opposing view. Volumes can be written about these three perspectives but I'll only make a couple of observations.
◈ "Rights and Justice"
The Civil and Political Rights (CCPR) can be found in International Laws. And while the Pro-Palestinian and Anti-Israeli Movements often repeat non-legally binding documents that imply that they have the "Right" to engage in Jihad and Armed Struggle, or that the "Occupation" is illegal and they have the Right to defend themselves, neither is true.
The (CCPR) says:
1. Any propaganda for war shall be prohibited by law.
2. Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law
The Fourth Geneva Convention says:
Protected persons who commit an offense which is solely intended to harm the Occupying Power, but which does not constitute an attempt on the life or limb of members of the occupying forces or administration, nor a grave collective danger, nor seriously damage the property of the occupying forces or administration or the installations used by them, shall be liable to internment or simple imprisonment, provided the duration of such internment or imprisonment is proportionate to the offense committed...
The penal provisions promulgated by the Occupying Power in accordance with Articles 64 and 65 may impose the death penalty on a protected person only in cases where the person is guilty of espionage, of serious acts of sabotage against the military installations of the Occupying Power or of intentional offenses which have caused the death of one or more persons,..
◈ "From the river to the Sea."
The area from the Jordan River, and westward to the Mediterranean Sea (less the Gaza Strip) includes the territorial boundary stipulations found in Article 3 of the Jordan-Israeli Peace Treaty of 1994. This territory was a sovereign Jordanian Territory between 1950 - 1988 when the King cut all ties with the West Bank. That left the Israelis as the ruling Occupation Force.
The argument often heard is that the Treaties were not negotiated with the Palestinians. And that was not required.
◈ "Cut Military Assistance"
Israel is the highest-rated country for Human Development in the entire Middle East and North African (MENA) Region of the world. Israel is the sixth (6th) highest Ranking of the World's Most Technologically Advanced Countries And Territories for 2023. For this reason, Israel deserves to be helped in maintaining a "Qualitative Military Edge” (OME) over neighboring militaries. Israel (America's best Ally in the Middle East for more than 70 years) needs equipment and training to compensate for being smaller in land area and population than most of its nearby adversaries for which it has had to contend with since it exercised its right to self-determination.

These comments are just a thumbnail view of the reasoning that should make Americans think twice. As far as Human Rights are concerned, much of what the Arab Palestinians protest about, they brought upon themselves. No matter what the Pro-Palestinian and Anti-Israeli Movements say about the Israelis, Israel has contributed more to the betterment of the world than the Pro-Palestinian and Anti-Israeli Movements ever even thought about accomplishing. No matter what tears you shed for the Arab Palestinians the Israelis were not the ones that stopped a commercial bus along the coast road and killed all the passengers (including the children). Then the Arab Palestinians had the guts to name schools after a prominent member of the terrorist squad. The Israelis were not the ones who stopped and killed Gail Rubin, niece to US Senator Abraham Ribicoff. The Israelis were not the ones that attacked the Israeli Olympic Team in Munich, or hijacked numerous commercial aircraft. Nor did the Israelis takeover the Cruise ship Achille Lauro off the Egyptian coast killing an American Citizen. That is not to mention the thousands of rockets and mortars launched against Israel in violation of Customary International Humanitarian Law.

There is just too much to annotate in the discussion group that could paint the proper picture of the most monstrous actors who call themselves freedom fighters and patriots.

I was more looking at the size of the two groups.

Indeed, the Palestinians should have never gone to Europe and attack the Zionists. :D
