Israel will have to dismantle the West Bank settlements and allow Palestinians to have a country. Jerusalem will have to be administered as an open international city. If Israel agrees to all these conditions and they are still attacked, then they should have full latitude to blow the fuck out of whoever attacks them, with US support.

Nah, been a supporter of Israel from the late 1960s up until Netanyahu. Has trouble justifying my support in later years, but stuck by Israel out of loyalty -- but loyalty is a two way street.

Israel is an independent nation with whom we are in alliance; however that alliance is more in the nature of a colony or dependent territory than a traditional alliance. Since WWII, "ally" has become more and more a vague term of friendship. In WWII, as you know, Stalin's USSR was our ally. Alliances are basically military cooperation agreements.

Israel's relationship with the US is unique because of the political and financial power of American Jews. Jews are less than 2% of our population, but you would never know that from looking at the political, economic, military and cultural ties between Israel and the USA. There is nothing illegal or un-American about this unprecedented relationship but it does point to the superiority and success of the Jewish people.

In the last fifteen years or so, political power in both the USA and Israel has undergone radical change. The historical foundation of our alliance the goal of a Jewish state and a Palestinian state living side by side in peace, harmony and even alliance has been slowly abandoned. Israel has embarked on a "one-state solution" which involves annexation of the entire West Bank and the creation of a reduced Palestinian state with limited sovereignty surrounded and controlled by the IDF.

Whatever one thinks of the changed Israeli policy -- and it is not an unreasonable plan given the realities of the surrounding Arab world -- the new one-state solution is not compatible with the global and Middle Eastern requirements of US foreign affairs. This is creating an increasing strain on the US-Israel alliance. The USA simply cannot support the Eretz Israel plan of annexation which is unacceptable to NATO, the EU, and the UN. The Likud party under Netanyahu is playing a dangerous game of brinksmanship.

The Jewish people have lost their homeland and been driven into diaspora at least three times in their history. The last exile lasted from 72 AD until 1948 CE. That is a very long time. It can happen again.

The "settlements" are state of the art towns built and sold, almost immediately, to wealthy Jews from around the world.
Yes, I Googled your claim about the "settlements" being funded by Christian Fundamentalist and all that popped up was Jew Hating sites.

I'm amazed you could think that. Israel is the biggest obstacle to US relations with Muslim nations. Israel is flipping us off and breaking its commitment to us over the Palestinian state. Israel wants war and lebensraum, with is paying for the war. Israel has done and is doing nothing to help the US military war in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Israel wants to drag us into a war with Iran for its own purposes. "Let's you and him fight". And we spend over four million dollars a day on Israel's military, which hasn't fought a war in over 40 years. Some ally! We are stooges suckered by the US Jewish vote.
