It was just a primary. Voters will have at least 2 other options in the general election. Don't worry, Dems are aware of elections where the Dem wins the popular vote and loses the election.

Exactly as I have said many, many, many times. Except it is not just the Left, it is also the Right.

Elections are decided in the primaries, not the general election. And Americans just don't turn out for the primaries in any significant numbers.

Donald Trump only received 30 percent of the votes in the 2016 primaries. But he succeeded because he had 18 other competitors dividing the rest of the votes.

If there had been only one or two other competitors, his ass would have been slam dunked onto the dustbin of history.

Since zealots are more energetic, they turn out in disproportionate numbers in the primaries and have great influence on who is chosen as a party's nominee.

Then in the general election, voters are forced to choose between "the lesser of two evils".

The solution is to get more people to vote in the primaries so we get sane candidates. Or we will keep getting maniacs on the final ballot.


Like I always say, we get the politicians we deserve.
