What in the world made that judge think that he could have an obvious conflict of interest, order the victim of that conflict of interest not to talk about it, and have that order obeyed?

There is no conflict of interest.

His only ethical move would have been to recuse himself as soon as his daughter's most hated political opponent was on the docket for his court.
