Some will be unhappy that the proposed prohibition will not extend to pitchside or shirt advertisements, and will only apply to logos which are emblazoned on sports fields for televised matches.

That element of the bill will be introduced as part of a suite of measures that will see a broadcast watershed for television and radio advertising of alcohol products, labels warning of the adverse health effects of problem drinking on cans and bottles, and the long-expected imposition of minimum

About time!

It is only a matter of time before there is a total ban on alcohol advertising, worldwide.

It is taking politicians a long time to stand up to the alcohol lobby.

Chickenshit token measure. Outta ban advertising from tv, and magazines, and anywhere children may view the ad as with tobacco. Which is more dangerous?

No on'es ever died because they smoked too much. People die every day drinking too much. (alcohol toxcity vs long-term effects like.)

We banned It from advertising when I was little. It crept back.

Why does alcohol advertising need to be banned? Is this more of that "limited" government Tea Party conservatism I keep hearing about?
