Texas Governor Greg Abbott has introduced legislation prohibiting the implementation of Sharia law in the state, prompted by a campaign led by Imam F. Qasim ibn Ali Khan, a leader at Masjid At-Tawhid and an affiliate of the Nation of Islam.

Khan’s efforts to pressure Muslim-owned businesses to cease selling pork, alcohol, and lottery tickets have gained significant attention online, with videos of his confrontations circulating widely.

Governor Abbott announced, “I signed laws that BAN Sharia Law and Sharia Compounds in Texas. No business and no individual should fear fools like this.”

He further emphasized, “In Texas, we believe in equal rights under the law for all men, women, & children. Any legal system that flouts human rights is BANNED in the state of Texas.” Abbott also instructed, “If this person, or ANYONE, attempts to impose Sharia compliance, report it to local law enforcement or the Texas Dept. of Public Safety.”

Khan’s initiative, described as a religious outreach targeting businesses he believes violate Islamic principles, has sparked further debate.

Khan declared, “We’re kicking off a national protest and demonstration campaign against all Muslim businesses that have haram in their stores.” He also stated, “This is the beginning of the campaign. We’re serving notice to America and the world that enough is enough.”

Thank you governor Abbot.
Nip it in the bud.
Texas has suffered from terrorist attacks.

Texas has experienced several significant Islamist terrorist incidents and plots over the past two decades, involving both lone actors and small groups inspired by international jihadist groups such as ISIS and al-Qaeda, with notable attacks at Fort Hood and Garland among them.

Key

  • Fort Hood Shooting (2009): Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, radicalized via extremist Islamist rhetoric and communication with Al-Qaeda ideologue Anwar al-Awlaki, killed 13 soldiers and injured 31. This attack exemplified lone-actor homegrown violent extremism (HVE) with no direct orders but ideological inspiration from foreign terrorist organizations.
  • Garland Shooting (2015): Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi attempted an attack on a "Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest" in Garland. Both were killed by law enforcement. ISIS claimed responsibility, noting Simpson's contacts with ISIS operatives online. This incident highlighted the role of online radicalization and lone-actor attacks in Texas.
  • Foiled Plots: In 2018, Matin Azizi-Yarand, a Texas high school student, was arrested for planning an attack on a mall and attempting to support ISIS, demonstrating ongoing domestic threats. Further arrests have involved efforts to travel overseas to join ISIS or provide material support to jihadist groups.

How do they enforce this? They say "You're not allowed Sharia Law", but this guy goes around to Muslim premises and says "you should not sell pork".

Are the police going to force every shop to sell pork "ma'am, you're not selling pork" "but we're a hair salon" "ma'am, if you don't sell pork, you're not free and being subjugated by the Muslims, in order to be free you have to do exactly what I say, it's the only way, ma'am"

We see this time-and-again in areas where Muslims have settled in large numbers...

They stay in-the-bushes (they keep relatively quiet) until enough of them have immigrated and saturated an area...

Then they start pushing Sharia and making life increasingly difficult for nonbelievers in areas where they live...

We've seen it happen in Michigan...

We've seen it happen in Minnesota...

We've seen it happen in New York...

And now we're seeing it in Texas...

-----------

Islam is the last surviving large-scale Warrior Religion...

It is a Johnny-Come-Lately plagiarism and cloning and adapting of Judaism and Christianity and Arabic Mythology...

Its founder was a failed merchant and "ladies man" turned delusional plagiarist and bloodstained conqueror and showman...

It is hopelessly incompatible with Western (Euro-Christian) religion and philosophy and culture and democracy...

It allows lying and misogyny and religious persecution and killing of unbelievers and warfare to defend or advance the faith...

It is a cancer upon the face of Mankind... it is a viper that some countries stupidly admit into their homes, only to be bitten.

It is not to be trusted.
What laws have been passed in any of the states you listed that were specifically Sharia?

This sounds good on paper, as long as that paper ignores the US Constitution.

The supreme court has again and again upheld people trying to impose their religious views on others through non-violent means, as fundamental to the 1st amendment.

Which the court has often said, isn't there to protect the speech we like.

The Supreme Court's interpretation of the First Amendment ensures protection for speech we may find offensive, hateful, or disagreeable, with the primary purpose being to safeguard the right to free expression even for unpopular views.

Scary. He shouldn't need to. By definition, Sharia Law is a /competing/ legal system in direct conflict with the US Constitution so by definition should already be patently impossible and illegal to implement anywhere in the USA as it usurps US Law.

In doing so, it establishes foreign territories WITHIN the territory of the USA, a blatant act of military and political aggression and war, where US law does not hold sovereign authority.

It's the "law" part that tends to be ignored by the media. You can be whatever you want to be in the greatest country in the world but you can't create your own law.

That's right which is why this is political theater.

To whom is the enforcement directed? The Muslim business that decides not to sell pork, alcohol and lottery tickets? Or. The man going to businesses that sell pork, alcohol and lottery tickets threatening them. If they don't stop crowds of devout Muslims will violently protest. Seems that enforcement would be easy. Arrest the guy making the threats.

That would be if the GOVERNMENT were trying to enforce it.
This is private individuals trying to enforce it by non-violent means.

This is no different than people trying to enforce catholic doctrine upon people, by protesting and blocking access to abortion clinics.

I would rather see legislation to have them removed from the country altogether.
This country is making a catastrophic mistake by allowing immigration from any Islamic country.
Do they get to take their "zero" with them?

That would be if the GOVERNMENT were trying to enforce it.
What government?

This is private individuals trying to enforce it by non-violent means.
Non-violent means? You mean it is OK now if I establish my property as the capitol of Toob, a sovereign district will allodial rights not subject to US intervention WITHIN the territory of the USA?

Claiming Sharia law within the US is to seize territorial control of part of the USA, literally an act of war. There can only be one set of laws, one system of justice, in any given place.

No, it would be like establishing Toob deli LLC, where all the employees there have to abide by the Kosher laws.

No, it is like establishing a tiny bit of a foreign authority within the USA which supersedes US jurisdiction for which the US has no legal control nor claim over.

I'm not a Muslim but I still don't have to sell cigarettes or pork in my store if I don't want to. So if I don't does Sharia law suddenly apply to me too, even though I'm not a Muslim? This is stupid! 😤

Those trying to apply Sharia law have to comply with all laws, federal and state, and all local ordinances and regulations.

They are not above the law, they are just apply a religious law in addition to existing law.
But remember, if a religious law goes against statute law, the USSC has often sided with the statute law being in violation of the 1st amendment, and religious law taking precedence.

Let that sink in, where you substitute sharia for Judaeo Christian.

Who in the world is trying to make Sharia Law in the US?

And of all places in Texas? :auiqs.jpg:

Mentioning Texas, that song always comes to mind:

"Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" - by Tony Orlando & Dawn

303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, centers on the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act, or CADA, which prohibits all public accommodations, including private businesses that serve the public, from denying full and equal enjoyment of its goods or services based on race, disability, creed, sexual orientation or other protected classes.

Lorie Smith, owner of 303 Creative LLC, intended to begin creating wedding websites but did not want to create websites celebrating same-sex marriages.

She argued that the law would compel her to create wedding websites for gay couples, effectively forcing her to speak positively about same-sex marriage, which is against her religious beliefs.

Justice Neil Gorsuch, writing for the majority said that Colorado cannot “force an individual to speak in ways that align with its views but defy her conscience about a matter of major significance.”

Smith was faced with an irreconcilable choice: to violate Colorado law and design websites only for heterosexual couples, or follow Colorado law and violate her deeply held religious beliefs.

The Supreme Court held that CADA did violate Smith’s First Amendment rights.

The supreme court thus validated all deeply held religious beliefs independent of which religion.
