The game is in the third period right now and Team USA just scored their fifth goal to Germany's ZERO. The fifth goal was one of the most pathetic goals I've ever seen.
The German fans in the arena were chanting all during the first period, but now their heads are hanging in shame and embarrassment.
Hockey Team USA is completely dominating the Olympics. Just ***** slapping the hell out of their opponents.
This particular game held a potential emotional conflict for my daughter and I. Our favorite NHL player is "the German Gentleman" Phillip Grubauer, and he is playing for Germany in the Olympics.
My daughter showed up to watch this game wearing her official Kraken shirt with Grubie's name on it.
I had to check her on this, and I asked, "Who do you want to see standing at the apex of the medal platform at the end of all this and getting the gold?"
She gave the correct answer. USA! USA! USA!
Fortunately, Grubauer is not the goal tender for today's game. That may explain Germany's catastrophic performance.
