You are very confused. First of all there were no "South Vietnamese". There was no South Vietnam. The French failed at subduing the Vietnamese people (the country, you know. Vietnam) and so they high-tailed it out of all of Indochina.
FINISHED. DONE. BEAT. DEFEATED. Democratic National elections were set to take place but the Americans decided they could succeed (where the French had failed) so they concocted a scenario where-by the marginalised
MAJORITY of Buddhists could be depicted as the "bad guys" against the hither-to
privileged Catholics. Oh! A new North-South Korea scenario that the US could manipulate!
The UN said "No! Vietnam must be ruled by majority Democratic election process!" But the US said,
"**** you!"
But OK, you say the "South Vietnamese” (your bad choice of stupidity) were ..… what did you say ..... "cowards, crooks, and collaborators"? Well, the Americans were crooks - for sure. And what happens when you are led by crooks? That's right, you learn how to become a crook yourself. You have described the leadership as sucking America's tit. But you also say "cowards and collaborators"? You haven't understood anything I've been trying to tell you. Those believing the US was going to treat them to riches ..... yes ...... crooks and cowards. But the Vietnamese who you call "collaborators"? Oh no, they fought hard, really hard, and they defeated the Americans and the idiots who followed them, such as the Koreans, Australians, and a few others. Do you not have a brain in your head? If you do, then explain how they kicked the shit out of the US if they were
"cowards". I am a Vietnam War Veteran and I served in the Army in the Central Highlands 1966-67. The NLF together with those from up north kicked our asses and all they had (for the most part) was Kalashnikovs and flip-flops.
"Cowards"? Go sit on your ears and stick a bowling ball up your fat ass.
