Oklahoma’s Superintendent of “Education” will require Bible Study in all Public schools.

By then you should have been old enough to recognize that your morality was already far superior to the embarrassing nonsense in the ten commandments. I know I was.

I kinda want to know also. I've noted that I am against what is being done here but what exactly do you find embarrassing in the ten commandments?

Sorry, little lady. You can't excuse leftist groomers by cutting and pasting from some obscure internet site.

Did you see the USSC has ruled in favor of parents who don't want their children inundated with your queer, tranny agenda?

our schools were far better when god was still in the schools,,

it went downhill rapidly when he was taken out and the left took over,,
I agree. Make God unwelcome in the public schools and education suffers. I was blessed to have an excellent public school education that allowed me to compete with anybody anywhere. I was taught concepts of critical thinking about all subjects with varying points of view which was pretty much everything other than math or maybe chemistry class.

We started our day with a moment of silence which most of us used to pray. The first hour class recited the Pledge of Allegiance. We had student led prayer at all assemblies and generic prayers at all sporting events or prayers for students in crisis. We had Christmas trees and decorations through the school, combined choirs sang Handel's "Messiah" every Christmas season and people--Christians, Jews, Atheists, everybody--came from miles around to hear it. Easter decorations in the classrooms in the Spring were common.

God was welcome in our schools and we were completely safe there despite many trucks in the parking lot having gun racks with guns in them in the parking lot. Bible study was not required in our school but it was allowed.

And I could not tell you the religious or political beliefs of a single one of my teachers. It was a good, healthy, beneficial environment for learning. No indoctrination. Just very good education. A diploma from that high school indicated a far better education than any four year woke university provides now.

Oklahoma should not be in the business of teaching religious dogma or doctrine. But a Bible study focused on content without requiring any particular interpretation of that content won't hurt the kids.

What commandments do you object to?
Thought crimes, for one. Stupid.

Orders to worship the Supreme being your mommy and daddy said was the correct one. Also stupid.

Poor, stunted morality... just what we would expect from a more primitive time in our species, when we were generally illiterate .

It's one of our first (and therefore worst) attempts at codifying morality. It should surprise nobody that it's useless and embarrassing, in 2025.

Thought crimes

orders to worship a god

These are fossilized turds, in the history of our species' journey to refine morality and ethics.

These are not things to which children should be exposed, unless it is a history lesson on how far we have come as a species, using the ten Commandments to illustrate one of our first and worst attempts at codifying morality and ethics.

Imagine.... a sign in a 3rd grade class, state sponsored, ordering the children to worship the one, correct Supreme Being. In 2025. ******* embarrassing. What a stupid country we are becoming.

It has never been law in the United States.

So again, what do you object to?

The Ten Commandments in the Bible are as follows:
  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image.
  3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.

These commandments serve as fundamental principles in Judeo-Christian ethics and are found in the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy in the Bible.

15th post
Oklahoma’s state superintendent on Thursday directed all public schools to teach the Bible, including the Ten Commandments, in an extraordinary move that blurs the lines between religious instruction and public education.

The superintendent, Ryan Walters, who is a Republican, described the Bible as an “indispensable historical and cultural touchstone” and said it must be taught in certain grade levels.

Can anyone guess where Oklahoma ranks in Educational achievement?

If you guessed 50th you would be correct.

Besides being blatantly unconstitutional, we have the Chinese breathing down our throats as they make major advancements in science, and these Republicans want to bring our public education back to the dark ages. Why is it Pubs want to force down the throats of its residents their brand of Christianity (sorry Catholics) instead of having their kids attend parochial school? Teaching the Bible should stay with the Church. Oklahoma will continue to remain in last place and its children will be left behind as other states and their students get prepared for the future.
It’s a good start.

We should ban false religions like Islam.

Do it with all the religions then.
