Oklahoma’s Superintendent of “Education” will require Bible Study in all Public schools.

What commandments do you object to?
I object to you worshipping a man that has factually broken so many of these 10 Commandments.

In Particular these FACTS:

  1. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  2. You shall not commit adultery.
  3. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  4. You shall not covet.

Would you, Robert W , care to defend your cult leader on ANY of these 4 in particular? Don't deflect with whataboutisms. Defend your cult leader or simple acknowledge that he has factually broken these 4 in particular.

But it is.

State sponsored religion, just like the Pilgrims fled here to escape 400 years ago.
The Pilgrims however instituted their own religious theocracy imposing consequences for any 'heretics' to the faith they demanded. They came here for the right to do that as it was forbidden to them in England.

However, under the liberty provided by the Founder and the Constitution they gave us, all the little theocracies had dissolved by the end of the 18th Century and no new ones developed.

Requiring Bible Study is NOT state sponsored religion--the Founders to a man approved the idea for the public schools in fact--so long as no particular dogma or doctrine is taught along with it.

The attitudes of the Founders would be horrifying to the current anti-religion, anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, anti-JudeoChristian people of America today.

Islam is in the news all of the time.
Islam had zero to do with the discovery of or settlement of the "New World" or the founding or development of the United States of America. While there is no problem in studying the impact of Islam on the world and/or in a comparative religion class, the ONLY religion that was involved in the founding and development of the United States of America is JudeoChristianity. It should be taught from that historical and philosophical perspective and not from a perspective of dogma or doctrine. Do that and there is zero violation of the no establishment of religion clause.

To include any other religions in that would just be dumb as well as condescending.

That is utter bullshit. The Pilgrims did no such thing.

And bible study in school is the absolute epitome of state sponsored religion.

1. I am not in any cult.
2. I am not a pastor. Nor the pope.
Do you follow those four commandments?
I follow this most of the time. I do not speak well or ill of people I only know from the media exposure.

It depends on the lessons taught. It sure beats state taught Marxism.
It doesn't depend on anything.

Teaching religion in public school = state sponsored religion.

There are no if's, and's or but's.

There is no excuse that makes it ok.

If you want to indoctrinate your children send them to private school or do it at home.

Leave everyone else's kids alone.

Well sometime you might want to take an American History class. Until then I'll wish you a pleasant evening.

I have, several in fact. I can point you towards some resources if you'd like to take one yourself.

15th post
Islam is no more false than any other religion. It is an Abrahamic religion, just as Christianity and Judaism.
Wrong. It’s Satanic in nature, and completely contradicts the Abrahamic religion.
