First time Shohei takes the mound since 2023. I'm not a fan of risking the most talented player of all time as a pitcher, but looks like the Dodgers are going to do it. He's already had two arm surgeries, but Dodgers are desperate for pitching as 14 of their pitchers are on the IL. Let's hope we don't lose Ohtani because the Dodgers can't keep their pitchers healthy.

Who’s better between Ohtani and Judge?

Two arm surgeries? I didn't know that. Sheesh.
right he's on borrowed time, not sure I'd be pitching him.
but will he also be the DH too? that would be odd now
as pitchers don't hit

Oh, now that would be cool!
it would be a first in a few years but maybe the rule states he cannot unless under this circumstance
suppose we will find out

imaging being the winning pitcher and your bat gave you the runs to do so

not sure if that has ever been done since babe ruth

My guess is he will throw the 1st inning, possibly the 2nd and then get pulled and installed as the DH.

he pitched and was DH when he was with the Angels....im sure it will be the same with the dodgers...

how long ago? they changed the DH rule here a few years ago and why would the angels trade him? likely due to money, I doubt they want to let him go

Another one who might blow his arm out? Seriously, this hard throwing over the last ten years needs to stop.
Everyone thinks they are Nolan Ryan and can throw 100mph fastballs for 20 years

Every MLB team is looking for 100 mph arms. So pitchers are pushing themselves beyond their physical limits to get there. Most of them pay a heavy price. Nolan Ryan never had a significant arm injury until the very end of his career at age 46! He was a freak of nature.

Used to be if you throw 100mph you chose your spots to use it.
Now they will throw three pitches over a hundred to just one batter
