Oh yeah, tech is gonna replace human teachers any day now

You didn't read the article.
I did and you never took child psychology in college like I did

you sound like a crybaby teacher who's job might be replaced

maybe it should, you might not be good at your job at all

turning out kids who can't do the basics

IF you really read the article, you missed the point by a mile.

nope, I got the gist of it, not going to spend time pouring over ever detail
you can't stop progress no matter how much you cry about it so deal with it

Many people want to believe the all-mighty technology will replace teachers real soon. We have been using technology for some time now, and it is more than encouraged by the admin side. Worse still, too many teachers have come to rely on "learning software" of various sorts. Some have come to use it the way some teachers in the old days would put their feet up on their desks and read the newspaper while students were just told to read chapter this or that. We know that "remote learning" was a disaster.

Looks like humans are still needed after all.

Well I do not like to think of removing humans from the teaching. I do not believe it would be a good thing. That doesn't mean it won't happen. This nation doesn't think about anything but cost and profit. If it becomes cheaper it will happen.

I wouldn’t be so sure with the adaptive capability if AI

AI can evaluate the progress of each student and adapt the lesson plan based on strengths and weaknesses

It cant assess emotion can still have built in bias. The human connection is vital in education

AI can be a hot looking AI babe doing the teaching
Keep a kid in the game

The deleterious effect of more screen time on young people is well-documented, and making everything into a game just encourages students to focus on the game rather than learning. Per the article (that no one seems to have read), "fun" games have even encouraged some students to hold themselves back so they could keep on playing the game. "Remote learning" set American students back years. You just can't remove the human element from everything.

If you watch what they watch the subject changes by the second with no time to process and we wonder why they have ADD

If teachers think they can’t be replaced by AI….

All they have to do is look at their school board and ask , Would they really replace my pay and benefits with AI?

Even adults today have the attention span of a goldfish. It's doing much more harm to young people.

NO, but robots will replace the students' jobs.

That's funny! That was one of the first classes I took to get my teacher certification. It's funny how you don't seem to know anything about what teachers do.

You do know that college is voluntary, right?

No one makes you go there!
So?
What's your point?
That doesn't mean that the vast majority of colleges aren't Marxist oriented, does it?
College has been considered a necessity for success for decades. What a great scam: grossly overcharge you while turning you into a leftist all at the same time. What a plan!

No one makes you go! It's optional. You can vote with your feet if you do not agree.

Bill Gates would strongly disagree. My college roommate has no degree and he is an executive vice president with Bank of America.
