All while as a Conservative, he and his party want to get rid of Medicaid expansion and Obamacare. You gotta love when politicians talk out of both sides of their mouth.

For only the second time in like 50 years life expectation has DECREASED in the U.S. because of the large number of people who are dying from opioid overdoses.

Well, opioid addicts generally do not vote. He is just expressing his annoyance with the fact that his State services and coffers are being drained by this addiction crisis.

No, he is saying that Medicaid and being able to see addiction specialist and get help is what is starting to solve the problem...

But at the same time he is a Conservative that wants to get rid of Obamacare and Medicaid expansion.

They can't have it both ways.

The same treatment can be had at State hospitals. And it is also incumnent upon the States to inplement their own programs like needle exchanges and addiction services. Trust me, he'll be fine with the whole thing, the moment he can transfer these expenses to the federal ledger.

Yeah... state hospitals? Not going to happen. Do you have any idea how many opioid addicts there are in Ohio right now? Especially in the city he is talking about, which is Middletown? They couldn't handle doing only treatment at state hospitals.

Yeah... state hospitals? Not going to happen.
Yes, I know, which is why he is turning to Federal assistance. Funny, I hear no such pleas for assistance with children's healthcare. That's because that issue isn't monopolizing Ohio's medical services and first response services.

Sorry, but i don't buy for a second that this guy cares about the human tragedy aspect.

I don't really either, but in Ohio the opioid crisis is very huge, and it is a talking point that is going to be important in getting re-elected.

It's a national disaster, for sure.
