Well, congratulations to the Cleveland ā€œguardiansā€ā€¦. 11 games back of the division lead at the beginning of September and they have pulled off the greatest division comeback in baseball history winning the Al central division today.

As for my picks to win the World Series. I’m thinking either the Philadelphia Phillies or the LA Dodgers. I don’t think an American League team can compete with those power houses. And it’s obviously been a disappointment for the Dodgers to not earn a first round bye….nevertheless they have a super strong lineup and their pitching is solid. In addition to their starting pitching They have a relief pitcher Roki Sasaki who looks very strong and is back from injury. I know the Brewers have had a great year, but they have struggled mightily in the postseason in the past eight years.

Anyways I have a number of bets going for the postseason . Including the Cleveland guardians at 180-1 to win the World Series, Cincinnati Reds at 150-1 to win the World Series, LA Dodgers at about 7-1 to win the World Series, and the Boston Red Sox at 40-1 to win the World Series…. I also have a parlay bet on the New York Yankees winning the American League and the Philadelphia Phillies winning the National League for about 45-1 odds.

Philadelphia will beat the Yanks 4-2
I think there’s a decent chance of the Yankees bowing out in the first round. I think Crochet will be a tough cookie for the Yankees. Not to mention the other Red Sox starting pitchers Bello and Giolito … when they are on, they are tough to beat.

Red Sox versus Yankees will be fun. It’s a classic rivalry.

Reds all the way baby!!

they are lucky to be there....they backed into it...
The Reds are modern day version of MLB Affirmative action. Just give the small market baseball team a ticket to compete with the insane payrolls of the other teams they have zero chance of beating.

Yay.

It gives one warm fuzzies inside, doesn't it?

But the 600 lb. gorilla in the room is the New York Mets who spent more money than any teams in baseball, only to implode at the end of the season.

They have to have the worst front office in all of baseball spending 700 million on Soto.

It's not rocket science, as they could easily have spent less on getting players that could bat at a 250 average or above up and down the line up. Soto I think bats a mere 269, which is good, but there is no way he is worth the money.

Now I will kindly exit this thread and let you kids talk about your big money teams like we do every year.

Who will it be, the Yankees or Dodgers?

Honestly, the suspense is killing me.

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Mets were 20 games above .500 in mid June and had the best record in Baseball. Only Alonzo was hitting.
Their pitching staff had the best ERA in Baseball and were solid top to bottom.

Their core lineup performed well but the pitching imploded the rest of the season. Senga went from Cy Young contender with a 1.50 ERA to the minor leagues by the end of the year.
The rest of the staff imploded
Mets also lost every game after trailing in the eighth inning

The Reds are capable of beating the Dodgers in a short series. It rests on Greene and Abbott. Now, if they could only score runs and stop striking out (where is that WS manager to tell them to quit hacking like that?).

Seattle has had some well-rounded pitching. I don't know Woo's status as of today. Pitch around Cal, but they'll need to have an even better OBP than the regular season (the top playoff teams are also at the top).

Milwaukee does not need to hit home runs. They have good gloves and they can steal bases better than anyone. Factor in their lower strike out rate (read: not swinging for the fences), and that means smart. I'm not a fan of them, but I predict they win.

i dont expect the Dodgers to make it either....
Would be a surprise. Especially if they get Will Smith back. They just have way too much strength in the lineup. Ohtani, Betts, Freemen , Hernandez all superstar hitters. O feel like Betts is due for a big playoff run
