occupy wall st will have the same effect as tahrir square

I think the Tea Party is Diverse, not confused. It isn't Lock Step either, and not interested in censoring people who need to speak their minds. I don't see the Tea Party doing Demonstrations or Civil Disobedience either. If It did, it would know why. Nice try though.

No demonstrations? Are you sure?

Anyway, I concede, they're much more civil, they just turn up to town meetings and scream at the speaker while thrusting photos of him with Hitler moustaches drawn on it.

They Rally allot. Many Independent Groups. Protests? Not much. The Media is comparing this current group to the Tea Party. The Tea Party is not calling for Revolution or overthrowing the Powers that be, so, in that sense, the Press is out in La La Land.

I dunno Intense, I 've seen some pretty extreme placards on those 'rallies'.
There's been some fairly strong language used as well.

I hear you. It is a Free Country, Tea Party ain't that big on Censorship, that does not mean that the Organizers aren't coordinated. The Spelling alone is a serious challenge for one. It is humorous at times. Professional Protestors are good with signs and Drama. That can be fun to watch. I got to dress up once as a Grim Reaper Coffin Bearer. :D

The protest movement pretty much ended with Kent State. An regrettable incident that is sorely in need of repetition.

This is not 1968. The mood of the public is nasty. The people are fed up. The left is convinced that the people are fed up with corporations, capitalisim and banks. They are wrong. The people are fed up with socialism. They are fed up with getting their pockets picked to give to an INDOLENT poor.

There have been successful Protests and Demonstrations Post 1960's.
This current one may even be failing in knowing why it is being staged. That is poor planning and structure. It's message is all over the map both literally and figuratively. I think that if the Majority knew for sure what Others are doing in their Name, they would go home, shower, sleep, and move on. :eusa_whistle:

I'd suggest that the Tea Party protests at the other end of the political spectrum were similarly confused.
'Less Government, Less Taxes'...then what?
However they were better organised and funded.

Then we exercise our freedom as individuals.

Seems kind of obvious.

I wouldn't question the right to free speech, I'm pointing out that in some respects the two sides aren't so different.
There are plenty on both sides that will have unclear goals.

I think that for many people these movements are more cathartic than anything else.
The opportunity to go out in public and shout and scream and cry is what it's all about sometimes.
I have a similar theory about the huge outpouring of emotion over the death of Princess Di a few years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dismissing everyone's motives.

can't wait for heads to literally start rolling

If this movement goes violent--I will be pointing my finger right at Barack Obama--who has incited them--with his continual attacks on Wall Street--and his class warfare rhetoric.

$Goat herder legislation.webp

Baaa. Baaa. Baaabama.

And I'm sure everyone will give your finger and your goats the attention they deserve.

What the **** is wrong with you far left lunatics?

Perhaps they still believe in the concept of power to the People. I do believe it is one of the basic premises in the Constitution. And last time I checked the people's right to openly protest and dissent over what they don't like is still an option as well.

Of course, if you prefer to bend over and tell them to do it to you again - knock yourself out.

As for me, if I'm going down, I prefer to hang with the likes of those whose motto was Give me Liberty or Give me Death.

They believe in alot of dumbass things. Lets take a look at their demands, which can be found at the official wall street protest website.

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending “Freetrade” by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of AmericaÂ’s nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the “Books.” World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the “Books.” And I don’t mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

Are you democrats embarrassed? You sure the **** should be. You guys are ******* DUMB!!!:lol::lol:

You really can't possibly believe the only people protesting are left-wing-liberals? Or do you?

And exactly when did exercising one's right of protest or making demands for change become embarrassing?

The only embarrassing element here are the misguided who have some delusional idea they occupy the same playing field as those who occupy Wall Street. etc.

All this talk about leftest or rightest revolutions is rather silly.

We've heard it all before.

Most recently from the nutters hanging with the Tea Party folks, before that from the antiwar nutters of the 60s and the radical civil rights nutters of that same period, too.

The media focuses their cameras on the nutters in these movements because they make better press and their goofy prattle about revolutionary change alarms the easily alarmable.

Get a grip, kids.

Yes Daddy. Can I get a raise in my allowance?

My guess is that conservatives are way more heavily armed than the liberals. I could be wrong on this but I think I'm right, its a total guess though.

I don't think this type of "heads rolling" talk is appropriate at all.

Liberals rely on the police they malign so regularly to protect them if threats arise. Conservatives on the other hand are much more likely to protect themselves, all the while supporting the police. Rather ironic...isn't it?

Not bigrednec, he lies in wait at his front door every night surrounded by his arsenal, just in case the police or the army turn up...ironic eh?

who is the "he" you are talking about? If its me then you look silly, if its not me then you should clarify what you are talking about as your post is non-sensical.

For Occupy Wall Street? Sure. Them and their useful idiots and celebrity morons of stage, screen and radio. Not a conservative among them when you get down to brass tacks.

Errrmm...bigrednec, as mentioned in my post...

I thought this thread might contain a spirited and intellectual debate. However, having taken a moment to read the posts thus far, I think I’ll look elsewhere.
