In the clearest expression yet of his 2012 reelection strategy, President Obama said he would send a jobs package to Congress next month, ask lawmakers to pass it, and campaign against them if they refused.

Obama made the declaration in a town-hall-style meeting in Iowa on Monday night. He is facing criticism for not advancing a bold strategy to bolster job growth and his reelection prospects.

Obama has no intention of doing anything that would grow the economy; instead, he wants to raise taxes, you know, the ol' okey doke of shared responsibility, sucking the dormant capital out of the private sector, dormant because of this idiot's policies. What we need to do is dramatically reduce the corporate tax rate, further reduce marginal rates, eliminate the capital gains tax, rescind the regulatory idiocy imposed by the Obama Administration and repeal ObamaCare. We need to make these tax cuts permanent.

After that we need to transform payroll-tax entitlements into personally owned retirement and medical insurance accounts for future workers and for those who want to opt in now, presumably those in their twenties and thirties.

After that, we go federal department by department, abolishing some, drastically cutting the fat from others, starting with the Education Department. . . .

But first, we kill all the Democrats in Washington.

Carter might have been a doofus but I do believe he really had our country's best interest at heart.
Reagan might have been a war-monger but nobody can doubt his patriotism.
Both the Bushes, ditto.
Even Clinton worked his ass off to work with the right side of the aisle to pull our country out of the ditches.

It's a sad thing to say but I really don't think our current President really cares too much about trying to steer our country towards returning as a world power, either militarily OR economically.

The government will stop deporting many students and other illegal immigrants who are not a public safety threat and permit them to work in the country legally, the Obama administration announced Thursday.

A new federal group will review the 300,000 backlogged deportation cases with an eye toward prosecuting criminals and other high-priority cases. But authorities will effectively close the cases of many upstanding high school and college students who were brought here illegally, military veterans, and adults with no criminal record and strong family ties to the United States.
