Former Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Charles Edwards and his former aide Murali Yamazula Venkata were indicted Friday on charges of stealing government property to defraud the U.S. government. Yamazula was also charged with destroying records.

The indictments handed down by the Justice Department allege that Edwards and Venkata were working with others within the inspector general’s office to orchestrate a scheme to steal confidential and proprietary software that includes sensitive information on government employees. Prosecutors say Edwards was attempting to resell a revamped package of the software as a product of his firm, Delta Business Solutions to the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

I'm not defending him. I hope he gets the full punishment allowed by law. Lock the bastard up if that's what the crime calls for. However, I'm not sure why you are trying to blame Obama for something that a guy who used to work for him did. Recently, a guy that worked for me 10 years ago was caught selling drugs. What he does now has nothing to do with me.

I'm not defending him.

You tried to rationalize it down to him not actually being the IG during the time of the crimes. But he was directly working with the people in the department he established relationships with while still IG. This is a classic example of plausible deniability. Just accept it- a high ranking person in the Obama admin was clearly corrupt and that SHOULD elicit feelings of skepticism about his administration in general and get you questioning and digging for more, the same way the left applies that to trump. So hopefully this helps get the critical thought flowing. I won’t hold my breath though.
