As far as Trump would be a good president because of his business experience? Not so much, as reflected in what he said about charging Mexico (via higher tariffs and new trade agreements) for the wall, or what he said about Carrier shipping off jobs to Mexico (he said he would charge them an additional 35 percent for every unit shipped to the US).
Now, in business, you can do things like that, because whoever provides you with materials and labor can be controlled. And, if you don't like what a certain company is doing, you can drop them and give your business to another company.
You can't do that with other countries. All tax increases must be approved by Congress, as well as any new trade agreements. Trump can't do it in one afternoon as he has stated he could.
And..................you can't fire other countries as president. In order to dissolve alliances and enact sanctions, that ALSO takes Congress to get it done.
In almost all of his policies that he has said he would do, he has shown a woeful ignorance about how government works.
Yes, you can be a brilliant businessman and know nothing about how government works.
And for those that brought up Eisenhower as being a great president without having had any government experience, what exactly do you think a general in the Army does? They have to enforce and enact policy, as well as decide what is good for their service, and deal with a whole bunch of different opinions as to what should be done. Yes, Eisenhower was a life long soldier until he ran for office, but he had more than enough government experience to get his policies done.
