The move to go into Iraq was strategy, it might have been a mistake, but there were good reasons:
two highly populated areas were attacked 9/11
our nation is not designed with walled cities or houses, we are very vulnerable to attacks on our soil
by taking the fight to Iraq, it was 'removed' from our streets and towns
by puting the fight in Iraq, a message was given to terrorists: defend your own turf first
Defending Iraq from 'infidels' kept terrorists out of our country and in a country that helped grow them
It makes it harder for terrorists to recruit when the cannot defend 'home turf'
If our troops pull out of Iraq and Afganistan before the war is won, we will be right back to having terrorists concentrating attacks on our soil. It is a tough call for a president that thought all there was to the job was looking good.

This post gets my nomination for one of the dumbest ever on this board.

Why? I'm very curious to hear why you think so. I believe it is one of the biggest mistakes that this country has ever made, and we've made lots of 'em. It was a travesty. I truly believe that this war was initiated for the monetary benefit of buscho's cronies in the private security biz at the expense of tax payers, and for no other reason.
