Both GDP and profits rose in the 4th quarter of 2009. The trend is expected to continue in 2010. Stocks bottomed out and are in a bull market. Employment is still a problem but it is typically a lagging indicator. Most economist expect the economy to continue to improve over next year or so.

Bush never firmly established his whereabouts when he missed a whole week of reporting for duty with the TANG, so your observation that "no records were ever sealed by a previous president" is inaccurate. As for Obama not being willing to release his college papers, why would that be surprising? After the beating Hillary took for releasing hers? Why invite even more bogus criticism from the right. If you do a Google "Obama's Harvard Records," you will find page after page after page of right wingers attempting to DESTROY Obama just on the premise that those records "might" contain something they could glom onto. The very fact that he was elected President of the Harvard Law Review certain should be enough proof that he wasn't "friends with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed," as I've seen alleged. Good grief...

Barack Obama was born in the United States--as reported by FOX--his birth announcement was dug out of the archives in a Hawaii newspaper. If he is trying to cover something up--it's not in relation to his birthplace.

Maybe so, BUT typically a birth certificate is not worth the paper it is written on in most, or all, states. There must be brought forward a lot of other information that should go along with it, none of which BHO has produced.

There is the application itself for the certificate, not released, by him OR by Hawaii, and there are also, in people as important as a President, people who would have had personal knowledge of his birth and the circumstances surrounding it. Neighbors, friends, doctors in attendance etc, etc.

Then there is the matter of all his transcripts being sealed by Harvard. No such sealing has ever occurred with any former President, and I could go on, but I am not an expert on this and would suggest you check some of the birther websites, as they have the complete list of incriminating charges. But, just from what I know now, I am convinced that something is very fishy about this whole thing and this whole guy. I'm not going to check it out right now but if you care to you can.

Interestingly, Bill Clinton's birth was surrounded by a fog also. His putative father, an obscure service man in WWII died mysteriously a few day before or after his birth. There is strong doubt that this man was his real father in any case. Women at that time would marry or fake marriages to servicemen to collect their insurance and for other reasons. It's a long and dirty story as these things usually are, and no one wants to really touch the dirt involved for fear of being contaminated by the whole thing. So, a lot of dirt never is truly resolved because it is not useful dirt. Welcome to the world of Presidential dirt, like Kennedy's whores and so forth.
