Obama cranks it up - your thoughts?

Feels like he's throwing everything and anything against the wall to see what sticks in hopes of securing some sort of positive legacy the entire country can agree upon...

Pretty much so....

Immigration reform, Cuba recognition.......all are the correct thing to do

Yeah when a Republican President pulls the same crap Obama is doing now the left will be the ones screaming about a lawless President and the right will be the ones looking the other way.

Let's get a Republican President and see

I the mean time, Obama will use his executive powers unless Congress shows some balls to pass some legislation
You may get your wish sooner than you think for a Republican President. Since Harry Reid will not be in charge to kill every piece of legislation that is passed by the House we will now see if the President actually has the balls to back up all his talk about being bipartisan and compromising.

Yea, you dumb **** liberals lower
the bar so much like Harry Reid and are nervous as crap

Anyone who imagines that Cuba is going to be opened for trade and profit is living in a dream world that denies reality. An alternate universe maybe.

obama's legacy will be a president that thought he was better than everybody else and was determined to prove it regardless of the outcome.

Somebody asked me why the inner cities in the USA sucks.

This is what I said.

Education is very important, not only is it knowledge, and a skill set, and job skills, etc... but it is also life skills, coping skills, and one's expectations for themselves, and their ability to work with other people.
Education is very important not just for knowledge, but also for Brain development, and even brain function, and because it is important for brain development and brain function, the need for education is everything about a person, because the brain is everything about a person.

With that said, the educated refuse to live in the inner city, because the educated have higher expectations for both themselves, and for other people, and the Suburbs have a much, much, much higher standard of living, and a cleaner environment, and because the educated refuse to live in the inner cities, the people in the inner cities are less well educated, and they don't have the money, therefore there is no money to be made in the inner cities.

So who does that leave in the inner cities ?
It leaves those without the education and without the money, in the inner cities without the professional resources to gain either one or both.

And that is the reason why those in the inner cities often live high risk lifestyles, and commit the crimes, because they simply don't know any better, and also, because their education is less, their brain doesn't function quite as well, so they also don't care... even if they do know about the risks involved about how they are living and the risks involved when you commit crimes.

Its all caused by the separation between educated professionals, and blue collar workers.

The supreme court can and did over ride a EO, I am telling you all when that subsidies case comes up in July Obama care is done

A minor case that will be easily resolved. The intent of the law is to allow federal subsidies
36 states are involved it is not minor

Interesting watching Obama using executive authority to put the pedal to the metal on issues he knows the Republicans oppose, and evidently he's not through.

This, in the face of the 2014 elections.

Do you think he's hurting Democrats by essentially ignoring the sweeping Republican victories, or are the results of a sparsely-voted mid-term election not representative of a mandate?

Looks like Obama has made up his mind on that question.

I think he's concluded that the lowest voter participation rate in 72 years is not a "mandate".

I think he's also concluded that since he'll never be on the ballot again, there's no reason to not do what he wants. It's the same conclusion that Reagan, Clinton and Bush-43 came to when they had sixth year midterms that didn't go their way.

Yepp.

Obama could care less what anyone thinks.......including his own party.......during these last 2 years in office.

He is all about creating his personal legacy.

And normalizing our relationship with Cuba is just the start. ......

he's definitely smart enough to not give a **** about what stupid ******* Islamofascists like you think, Allahu Shityu.

And what you don't think the Supremes don't read the news paper about Gruber? Obama care is going to get blown up

He's a seriously rotten asshole. Instead of trying to work with the opposition he's trying to piss them off.

I think he really, really, really hates Congressional Republicans. Not conservative or right-leaning moderate civilians per se, just those politicians who have made his life miserable for the last six years. He's gonna take these next two years and shove them straight up the GOP's ass. Kind of a win-win - do things his way and piss off the GOP.

.
In the process he's going to play Nero......

I suspect that part of the calculus when deciding on these moves is whether they can be reversed or significantly revised by the next President.

No reason to start something that will be flushed in two years, so it will have to be things that will set somewhat in stone in January 2017.

I think he's being a lot more clever than that. He's picking fights where the GOP is internally divided.

Let's take illegal immigration. You have the rank and file bubbas who live in mortal fear their daughters might date a Mexican who are against immigration, vs. the Chamber of Commerce types who want them legalized so they can hurry up and hire them for shit wages. Getting them to fight amongst themselves is quite brilliant.

Same thing with the Cuba thing. You've got the anti-Castro Exile community absolutely shitting its pants that we might recognize the reality of the last 55 years. Vs. All these big multi-national corporations who really run the GOP who frankly want Cuba opened up for trade and profit.

Well, let's see: Obama got over 50% of the Cuban vote in Florida in 2012, one of the few unsung tales of that election. The first time ever that Cubans in Florida swung for a Democrat in a presidential cycle. And Florida is, you guessed it: a critical swing state. So, I have no doubt that some electoral calculus was in on that decision.

But yeah, essentially telling the Republicans to go **** themselves with their own red hot pokers is something I would do as well. He has nothing to lose, everything to gain and can keep boxing in the GOP over and over over again. If they overplay their hand on the Cuban thing, they risk permanently losing a key voter block in Florida without which they cannot possible win the state. And without Florida in it's electoral column, then it is curtains for the next GOP presidential nominee.

LOL....

Have the Republicans magically gotten 60 votes in the Senate?

Where do you think those bills will go?

It's what we call......"a start"

There is no legitimate reason to continue economic sanctions. Congressional support will crumble

Smart ? Seriously you jest , the dumb **** became potus because the liberals picked him out of a phone book

I went from liking Obama as a noob to genuinely disliking the man because he hasn't any roots in the country and doesn't understand us. He is not "US". He has genuinely hurt people. I lost my job of over 20 years because of this stupid socialist health care shit. For what? A few votes from people of color that can't get real jobs? Wow.

Obama is starting to act "presidential"

Ignoring the Do Nothing Congress and doing what is right

15th post
The storm will come in July and Obamas legacy is dead

The Supreme Court is not going to yank health care from millions of people and leave Big Insurance holding the bag.

The Roberts Court is a business Court, and business wants ObamaCare.
