But the massive tax cut, bloated budgets, and a few other economic blunders of GWB were like spraying gasoline with a fire hose on a house fire. Right now, the unemployment rate is down because people are being called back to jobs they already had. Not because there are a plethora of new ones. During the 2009-2011 recession, those jobs were lost for good and then companies slowly rebounded and grew. There are jobs that were had in this economy that are probably never coming back. Not to mention a class of people (in the over 50) category that may never be able to hold another job like the one they had before the pandemic.
To say that Trump is a genius for overseeing a reduction in the unemployment rate when it was his response to the virus that caused it in the first place is...well...bullshit.

Reducing unemployment rate by having people called back to jobs they were furloughed from is NOT an accomplishment. Especially when it was his administrations response to the virus that caused the economic carnage in the first place.

What failures? Both sides had a hand in the housing disaster. But as my memory serves, both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama oversaw economic recoveries after the previous Republican administrations left a recession.
Both sides have had their failures. It's just been more prevalent on the right hand side of the aisle...and it's one of the biggest reasons this country is in the economic shape (sans pandemic) that it's in (rich getting richer. Poor getting poorer).

Actually the peak of the subprime lending was in 2006. By 2007, there was very little if anything that could be done because the amount of bad debt was a runaway freight train.
But thank you for the tacit admission that the basis of the Republican platform, deregulation and lack of regulation, led to the biggest financial crisis in generations. And yet, y’all still keep that as your mantra.
